February 2014 Ipsy

After finally “Skipping the Waitlist,” I received my first Ipsy Glambag for February. Comparing Birchbox to Ipsy this month, I think I received a higher value bag from Ipsy but not necessarily items that I’m going to use religiously. So what did I get? Let’s find out.

Pacifica Body Butter in Hawaiian Ruby Guava
I’ve seen this brand at Target but never tried it. This lotion smells pretty awesome and the sample size is huge so I totally will use and love this item.

Zoya Nail Polish in Odette
This is a really pretty purple and it wore really well with minimal chipping. I would definitely use this brand in the future and this was a full size polish which is awesome.

POP Beauty Plump Pout Mini in Fuschia
I was mildly horrified at two things about this item. Firstly, the color. I look like a common street whore with this color on so that’s great. Second, it smells like gasoline. I assume this is not what the company was going for. I emailed Ipsy regarding this issue and they have sent out a replacement gloss and my tracking email looks like they also sent a Moxie gloss so we shall see how that pans out.

Tini Beauty Eyetini Cordial Cream Shadow
This is supposed to be an eye shadow and base all in one. Personally, I hate the color I received which was Spiced Rum. It’s an odd copper color and just something that I wouldn’t really find a use for. I’m pretty conservative with eye makeup so maybe somewhere down the line I can find a use for it.

J. Cat Beauty Eyelashes
When would I need these?? I can’t really find an answer to that. Perhaps if my wedding didn’t happen 4 months ago then I could find a reason. These will just stay tucked away unless a magic moment comes that make them appropriate.

Overall, I really liked 2 items and all the items were very generous in size. I’m going to take a look at my profile and see if there’s a way to adjust the types of colors I get sent in the future. Now I say, Bring it On March!!
