Birchbox Limited Edition Finds Box-February 2014

This Limited Edition box from Birchbox is only $18 with approximately $55 of value so I snagged it right away.

Some people may grumble because these items are things you can buy at Target or CVS and not up to the standard luxury brands for which BB is known. However, that’s exactly what this box is and that’s how they marketed it. It is a “Finds” Box because it’s filled with lower cost drug store items that are good quality.

Each box contained the same products with different color variations. So let’s delve in….

Biore Self Heating One Minute Mask
A box of four masks which contain charcoal and they heat up when you put them on. I haven’t actually tried one yet, but my mom and sister tried them (they are mask aficionados) and they both approved.

COVERGIRL Bombshell Volume by LashBlast Mascara
I LOVE THIS. This mascara is great. It has two wands. The first is for a thickening base coat and the second is a lengthening top coat. I love the look of this mascara and I have noticed very minimal flaking.

John Frieda Frizz Ease
Nourishing Oil Elixir

I’ve been itching to try one of these hair oils. Birchbox is always advertising the Beauty Protector line, which I would love to try but in the mean while this oil elixir will do. I’ve been using it after I comb my hair after the shower and I can definitely tell my hair is softer and has more shine and maybe slightly less frizz. I have cray cray flyaways so anything to tame them down I will gladly accept. There isn’t much of a scent to this product which is fine with me!

NIVEA Kiss of Care & Color in Sheer Caramel
So far, I am a big fan of this lip balm. I’m happy I got a neutral color because I’m not convinced I can pull off a bold lip. I wouldn’t use this as my everyday, in my pocket at all times lip product but i do like it.

Rimmel London Stay Glossy 3D Lipgloss
Again, happy I got a neutral color in this gloss. It’s a light pink which goes on sheer and gives just a little shimmer. Enough to look like you’re wearing something but not so much that someone would say “Woah, cut it out. ”

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure
This polish claims that it is a base coat, color and top coat all in one. Using two coats, it did have a nice shine to it and didn’t have that gross look that normal polishes have if you don’t use a top coat. I still put on my Sally Hansen top coat that I always use and I’ve had it on for 2 days with no chipping! We’ll see how it does after a shift at work!!

COVERGIRL Bombshell Shine Shadow by LashBlast
Unfortunately, this product did not come in my box. However, I emailed Birchbox Customer Service and they have sent me one in the mail and apologized that my box was missing the item. Sidenote: I have been completely satisfied with Birchbox Customer Service whenever I have had to get in touch with them. They respond promptly and are very understanding.

Overall, I love this box. I think I got a lot of bang for my buck and this was a great first Limited Edition Birchbox for me!!
