Week 8- Do What You Love

Over the past 2 months, you’ve read about my workouts with the trainers and the Expresso bike and my meetings with Linda but what I haven’t really talked about is Zumba. If my work schedule allows, I try to go to at least one Zumba class a week. It is an hour of exercise that I desperately need. I love it. I really do.

It’s included in the monthly membership at EFC so if you haven’t tried it, I strongly suggest that you do. It is impossible for a bad mood to stick around once we start dancing. Do we all have rhythm? Nope. Do we all look like superstars when we’re dancing? Nope. But that’s the point. No one cares what you look like. No one is judging if you’re good or not. It’s a hour of fun. It’s an hour of cardio that breaks up the monotony of the treadmill or elliptical.

I have been extremely vocal to everyone during this journey that the one thing I refuse to give up is Zumba. I will do double workouts (and usually do) on Zumba days because I make a point to go dance with my girls on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my workouts with Jen. She motivates me and pushes me to limits that I certainly never thought I could attain. We have such a great working relationship at this point that I truly cherish. She gets me. And I look forward to meeting with Linda and bouncing ideas off of her and seeing the changes happening on the scale and making adjustments and really feeling like she’s in this right along with me. But I also get really excited when I know I get to go dance and be foolish for an hour with my mom and sisters and all the other ladies that are shaking it off up there with me. Everyone in that class has been so supportive of this TBT and I look forward to seeing them every week.

So I really would love to see some new faces in the coming weeks! We’re always looking for newbies and I can guarantee Rachel will be up front ready to greet you with a huge smile and tons of energy because that’s how she approaches teaching every class! Week 8 is done. 2 months down. And I’m loving it!

  1. I love the pictures in this post! Zumba is just one of those classes where you don’t realize how much you move because you’re laughing so much! I too look forward to the classes every week.
And it certainly keeps me from getting bored with the same old routine.
